not matter when 

you stole the 

dreams of unsuspecting 

children told them 

they can, they 

are and they 

must. Then you 

labeled them BLACK

As if it 

is a negative

not matter when 

you strongly suggested 

we all get 

a head by 

having a thread 

of "decency" called 

education then you 

put us in 

an apartheid education 

state-Where I 

can find crack 

easier than a 

full paragraph about 

the civil rights 

movement in your

textbooks

All lives did 

not matter when 

you told us 

we have amendments

-to rights that 

were never our-

rights and that 

we can plug 

ourselves into a 

system...a system 

that has blinders 

on when it 

comes to everyone 

but- we so 

you have been 

building prisons and 

even put in 

pipelines for WE

All lives did 

not matter when 

a young black gurl

with the brain 

of a genius 

and a heart 

of gold cannot 

find all them 

things that make 

her go from 

girl to lady 

to woman-so 

she has learn 

how to be 

cold in the 

hot places in 

different in the 

places she should 

be easy...

All lives did

not matter when 

black babies are 

subconsciously wiped out 

of the fabric 

of dreams from 

black mothers and 

sterilized from black 

fathers by campaigns 

that pay for 

bill boards to 

shame him into 

oblivion-HEAR me

black men we 

need you...
